Casa do Choro Brass & Percussion Group
Created over 15 years ago with the aim of enriching performance teaching practices at the core of the Escola Portátil de Música (EPM), the Casa do Choro Brass & Percussion Group brings together teachers, students, former students, and brass professionals from Rio de Janeiro. Since its foundation, the group has been dedicated to researching and promoting Brazilian music for brass.
In 2024 and 2025, the group presents the project "Homage to Duda," delving into the vast repertoire of Maestro José Ursicino da Silva for this ensemble. Duda is one of the most important composers of brass music in Brazil, with a style that combines sophistication and Northeastern roots.
