Description
As if it were a statement about his own views on music labels, Jack Kays has named his second and, so far, latest album Call It What You Want. Perhaps the title reflects the difficulty of putting a concrete label on his sonic universe, which is as rooted in the digital world of SoundCloud as it is in the very real experiences of performing live in a concert hall.
One of the first to recognize his potential was Travis Barker, who reached out to him after hearing his viral single Morbid Mind. The two went on to release a joint EP in late 2021. Following that pop-punk baptism, Jack Kays began something of a transformation: from an emo-folk singer-songwriter into the frontman of a rock band that, in a parallel reality, might have become a defining act of its generation, complete with a place in MTV's iconic video compilations.
Jack Kays will bring Call It What You Want to Sala El Sol in Madrid on 30 April, following his show at Sala Upload in Barcelona the day before. Get your tickets for Jack Kays and His Band at El Sol!
