Description
Russian pianist Daniil Trifonov is a regular presence in the world’s top concert halls, at the most important festivals, and with the best orchestras on the planet. A quick look at his schedule for the second half of 2026 leaves no doubt about his place in the classical music elite: he has performances with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, the Orchestre National de France, and the Vienna and Berlin Philharmonics (including in São Paulo).
The New York Times has noted that “few artists have emerged on the classical music scene in recent years with the dazzling brilliance of Trifonov.” His name first rose to prominence in 2011 when he won first place in two major international competitions, the Rubinstein Competition in Tel Aviv and the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow. The year before, he had already been a medalist in the equally prestigious Chopin Competition in Warsaw. Winning all three is an exceptionally rare achievement.
He won the 2018 Grammy Award for Best Solo Instrumental Album — for “Transcendental,” recorded for Deutsche Grammophon — and was also named “Artist of the Year” by the British magazine Gramophone in 2016 and by Musical America in 2019. In 2021, he received the title of Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres from the French government. Praised publicly by pianist Martha Argerich for his combination of tenderness and intensity, and described by The Times of London as “without a doubt the most impressive pianist of our time,” Daniil Trifonov continues to captivate audiences worldwide.
