Description
Madrid has a new summer ritual. Calor is the pop-up restaurant that Grupo Life Gourmet and chef Ramón Freixa are setting up this summer in La Pelouse of the Hipódromo de la Zarzuela: the most exclusive area of the venue, trackside, with nighttime horse racing as a backdrop. On Thursday and Saturday nights, the Hipódromo transforms. The stands fill up, the horses take the track under the lights, and you’re in the front row with the Ramón Freixa menu unfolding at your table.

Choose how you want to experience it. In both cases, the cuisine is by Ramón Freixa, with two Michelin stars and three Repsol suns, and drinks are ordered separately. The menu features starters such as anchovy coca from Santoña with smoked butter, foie terrine with mango chutney, burrata caprese injected with basil, vitello tonnato, or prawn carpaccio with citrus. For the mains, there’s charcoal-grilled Iberian presa with black garlic, sea bass en papillote with oriental vegetables, or tuna tartare with fried egg cream and nori seaweed. And to finish, memorable desserts: crème brûlée with pistachio ice cream, crispy chocolate mille-feuille, or creamy cheesecake with red fruits. All this in the unique atmosphere of the Nights of the Hipódromo.
