Description
Ever since Christopher Columbus arrived in the Americas in October 1492, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and English conquerors arrived alongside African slaves, among others. The blending of all these cultures—indigenous, European, and African—triggered a profound cultural and social transformation. As a result of this multicultural fusion, the music of these nations began to take shape; a music whose essence and richness lie in its wide variety of styles, rhythms, harmonies, and melodies that share the same language. In this program, the Ágora Choir takes you on a journey through various South American countries, showcasing songs and styles from Cuba, Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay. Experience the bolero, son, habanera, candombe, and tango of three legendary 20th-century composers: Ástor Piazzola, Carlos Gardel, and Héctor Stamponi. A rich musical program beautifully accompanied by Salva Núñez on the guitar. Get your tickets for Ágora Choir: Voices of Hispano-America in Segovia!
