Remember when the concept of synth-pop actually meant something? Luca Venezia, the mastermind behind Curses, sure does. This German producer, musician, and DJ lives artistically and spiritually rooted in the late 70s, when record labels like Mute Records in Germany or Factory Records in the UK caught a glimpse at the end of the tunnel of a dancefloor with post-punk and industrial tones.

That’s the exact dancefloor Venezia keeps serving up with every release... and he’s been seamlessly fusing club beats and raw rock energy for almost fifteen years now. In fact, he even caught the ear of synth-nostalgia royalty Johnny Jewel, who put out Curses' third album, Another Heaven, on his Italians Do It Better label back in 2024.
