Caetano Veloso will visit Madrid on June 4. You will have a definitive and unrepeatable opportunity to enjoy one of the most relevant composers of the 20th century. At 82 years of age and after the historic success of his recent stadium tour with Maria BethĆ¢nia (which mobilized more than half a million people), the Bahian genius returns to the capital after his last visit in 2023 in a moment of absolute plenitude and having found a deep echo in the new generations, keeping intact his ability to move. The concert on June 4, the only stop of the year in Spain, will be an emotional journey through six decades of avant-garde, which will include immortal classics such as Vaca Profana, NĆ£o Enche or Branquinha, pieces from his latest album, Meu Coco (2021), or his most recent composition Um baiana, which harbors a message that is especially relevant for being a vehicle that vindicates his cultural identity and non-violence. An architect of modern Brazilian identity and leader of Tropicalismo in the 1960s, Veloso revolutionized global culture by fusing the psychedelic avant-garde with popular roots, a boldness that earned him exile and made him a timeless symbol of creative freedom.
