Description
Under the baton of conductor Priscila Bomfim, Chiquinha Jackson is a special concert by the Chiquinha Gonzaga Youth Symphony Orchestra paying tribute to the legacy of Michael Jackson. It will take place on June 22 at Theatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro. Under the baton of conductor Priscila Bomfim, the orchestra—composed exclusively of young musicians from the public school system—presents symphonic versions of the great hits of the King of Pop,
including Billie Jean, Beat It, Black or White, Bad, Smooth Criminal, and Thriller.

The evening will feature a special appearance by actor and singer Ícaro Silva, who will perform the artist's classics alongside the orchestra. The concert also includes the
Youth Choir of Rio de Janeiro and singers Alicia Rachel, Ana Neri, Ella Cath, and Thallyta Braz, as well as guitarist Madu Cader.

Celebrating the 30th anniversary of Michael Jackson's last visit to Brazil, the show proposes a meeting between the grandeur of symphonic music and the

strength of the work of one of the greatest icons of global pop culture. The concert is proudly sponsored by Petrogal Brasil, the Galp / Sinopec joint venture, and Zurich Santander, through the Federal Law of Incentive to Culture.
