Description
Los Despiertos are El Finito, El Mediano, and El Grande: three street sweepers who, during an endless night while everyone else sleeps, clean and sweep over and over again, without stopping, the mess left behind by others. As they work, they ask the same questions we all do: Is there something after this life? Why do we have to work so much? What does it mean to love? What is death? How do we accept it?
As they search for answers to these and many other questions, we discover their joys and sorrows, their fears, dreams, and loves. With a deeply personal language full of tenderness, love, and poetry, José Troncoso draws us into the story of these three invisible members of society, where absurdity and surrealism are never far away.
