Description
The Biblioteca Fantàstica de Les Bèsties broadens the view of the medieval world, a universe full of fantasy, epic and color that stretched from north to south of Europe. These roots allow us to understand why medieval beasts are still so current in contemporary popular culture.
In the virtual reality experience in VR360º format, a virtual map invites the visitor to discover impressive hybrid and fantastic beasts from the medieval world, such as the phoenix, the dragon, the harpy or the whale.
In addition, the immersive film of this experience dedicates 20 minutes to an unprecedented projection of nine of the most epic medieval beasts and presents them in a spectacular and innovative immersive format, highlighting some of their protagonists such as the pawn, the basilisk, the elephant, the centaur and the mermaid. The project was born from the success of the temporary exhibition "Bèsties" of the MEV, Museu d'Art Medieval, awarded with the prize of the Association of Museologists of Catalonia for the best exhibition of the year and with the Sàpiens Prize for the best initiative of historical dissemination, curated by Judit Verdaguer and Marc Sureda.
