Description
Mestranzo is the new work of the Extremaduran folk musician Manu Sequera, a sonorous journey through the forgotten music of the Iberian tradition. After the recognition of Almoradú, Sequera returns with an album that reinterprets nanas, jotas, rondeñas, coplas and ritual songs from the emotion, the roots and the sung voice as a guide. Each piece is a living evocation of the landscape and popular memory, an invitation to feel the sounds that spring from the earth. In this unique show, Manu Sequera is accompanied by an exceptional cast: Pedro Pérez (vocals and flute), Iván Mellén (percussion), Mayra Pérez (vocals and percussion), Sofía Canals (violin), Carmen Miranda (double bass), Diego Salamanca (guitar), Pedro Contreras (piano) and Pedro Gómez (bouzouki, bass, hurdy-gurdy and psaltery). Mestranzo is music that smells of the countryside, old cooking, dusty roads and square dances. A celebration of what we were and what still vibrates in us.
