PROGRAM

Tribute to the Beatles - July 11 and August 29

In the majestic intimacy of the Chapelle Notre‑Dame‑du‑Sacré‑Cœur, the lyric artists of the Basilique Notre‑Dame de Montréal pay tribute to the Beatles in a rare elegant a cappella concert. Carried by exceptional voices — Léa Weilbrenner, Pascale Brigitte Boilard, Claudine Ledoux, Cristine Cimon Fortier, Joé Lampron‑Dandonneau, Michiel Schrey, Pierre‑Étienne Bergeron, and Thomas Jodoin‑Fontaine — these vocal reinterpretations reveal the full melodic richness of the repertoire. Between pure harmonies, enveloping acoustics, and timeless emotion, this show offers an immersive and refined experience that magnifies the greatest hits of the legendary band. A unique moment where the music of the Beatles meets the Montreal lyric tradition.

Nathan Loignon — Sweet Seasonal Madness - July 18

Nathan Loignon presents Sweet Seasonal Madness, a 90‑minute piano performance where emotion becomes sound. Born near Manila and welcomed into a new life in Quebec, Nathan transforms his remarkable journey into a powerful artistic voice. Living with autism spectrum disorder, dysphasia, and ADHD, he finds in the piano a universal language that resonates deeply with audiences. His concert blends original compositions with heartfelt reinterpretations of beloved Quebec classics such as Les étoiles filantes, Le petit roi, and Quand les hommes vivront d’amour. Combining neoclassical textures, cinematic emotion, and cultural memory, Nathan delivers an elegant and unifying experience for piano lovers and fans of Quebec music alike.

Romantic Horizons with the duo Chloé Dumoulin and Gabriel Francis-Dehqani - July 25🎶

Pianist Chloé Dumoulin and cellist Gabriel Francis-Dehqani form a promising young duo whose playing combines refinement, vitality, and a keen sense of communication. They began their collaboration in 2024 during a tour of ten Chinese cities, including Shanghai, Beijing, Hangzhou, and Shenzhen. United by a shared passion for chamber music, their partnership is marked by an instinctive musical complicity and an adventurous spirit in their programming.

They love to perform the great classics of the cello and piano repertoire, while introducing audiences to lesser-known gems and new commissions. They have performed together in Asia, Europe, and North America, sharing their artistic talent and curiosity with international audiences, and they continue to expand their reach through collaborations, festival appearances, and future recording projects.

Classical Music Goes to the Movies - August 1

The De Rosa Trio presents Classical Music Goes to the Movies, a concert where timeless classical masterpieces meet the evocative world of cinema. In the inspiring setting of Notre‑Dame Church, piano, violin, and cello come together to revive iconic works by Beethoven, Mozart, Wagner, and Strauss—all featured in films by legendary directors such as Kubrick, Scorsese, and Coppola. This program highlights the emotional power of music when paired with cinematic storytelling. It offers your audience a rare opportunity to rediscover great classical works through a fresh and compelling perspective, where artistry and imagination blend seamlessly.

Strings and Women with the Concordances duo - August 15

The popularity of the repertoire for voice and guitar is not new! This musical journey is an invitation to rediscover treasures of the European repertoire in their most intimate form: voice and guitar.

From the French grace of court airs to the English melancholy of lute songs, from the sunny rhythms of Spain to the sweetness of Italian ariettas and German romanticism, soprano Marie Magistry and her accomplice Marc Deschênes weave an intimate and expressive dialogue. A timeless moment that will immerse you in the intimacy of salons of another era.
