Description
Pierre et Gilles. The construction of the symbol is an exhibition that brings together for the first time in Mexico the works of this legendary French artistic couple. Through a style that combines staged photography with meticulous painting, the artists portray celebrities, models and imaginary characters in compositions full of symbolism. The 96 selected works establish a visual dialogue with pieces from the Franz Mayer Collection, addressing themes such as the power of gesture, the symbolism of objects, allegory and desire.

The exhibition is divided into five thematic nuclei and presents unpublished works created especially for this occasion. During their first visit to Mexico, the artists will present the official catalog at the Marrakech Salón, an icon of the capital's LGBTQ+ nightlife. In addition, the public will be able to enjoy a program of parallel activities and workshops that enrich this transformative artistic proposal. A must-see exhibition for those who are looking for art, diversity and symbolism in the same tour.
