Shoegaze, and its kindred genres, continue to conquer unlikely territories like TikTok. It’s not a trend, but a long-overdue reward for rock’s tireless laborers, like Slow Crush, a Belgian band recently signed to American label Pure Noise Records, known for its electric climaxes and emotionally charged soundscapes. Fronted by Isa Holliday (vocals and bass), with Frederik Meeuwis (drums), Jelle Ronsmans (guitar), and Nic Placlé (guitar), this quartet seems to defy science itself: the seismic, almost post-metal surges of their latest album, Thirst, sound as if they were created by more than just four people. They will perform on November 18th in Barcelona (Upload).
