Description
Aja Monet comes to El Molino on July 10 with a show that combines poetry and music in its purest form. Known for her hypnotic power on stage, this Grammy-nominated New York poet has been a key figure in spoken word since she won the Nuyorican Poets Cafe's Grand Slam Poetry Award at the age of 19. In his debut album, "when the poems do what they do", he offers a journey through black resistance, love as a political practice and joy as an engine of survival. Each of Monet's verses is a call, a consolation, a revolution. Her presentation at the Grec Festival is an unmissable opportunity to be touched by an artist who turns art into a transforming act.
