Description
Yerma is one of Federico García Lorca’s most powerful and moving works, poetically and brutally portraying the suffering of a woman who longs to be a mother in a closed, oppressive environment. In this version directed by Paloma Mejía, the tragic poem is brought to life through a staging rich in symbolism, light, music, and movement, amplifying every word and silence. The company immerses the audience in the Lorquian universe, intensifying the emotions and inner conflicts of its characters, especially Yerma, whose voice resonates powerfully: “There are things locked behind walls that if they suddenly came out into the street and screamed, would fill the world.”
