Description
Building on the sonic foundation of their debut album Aborigen, this record captures the quartet’s evolution throughout their time on stage. It showcases a solid group that interacts seamlessly and masterfully within various flamenco styles, all viewed through the lens of European jazz. Abla is a call for communication and the expression of emotions and energy through music and the performers' shared experience. Josemi Garzón, a born innovator, has built his career accompanying great artists and showcasing his work across five continents in the realms of Pop, Flamenco, Jazz, and World Music. For over two decades, he has focused on integrating the double bass into flamenco, crafting a unique and highly personal style. In 2020, he released his first album as a bandleader, Josemi Garzón Quartet: Aborigen. Over the course of his career, he has toured and collaborated with icons such as La Barbería del Sur, Antonio Canales, Rafaela Carrasco, Carmen Linares, Joaquín Cortés, Estrella Morente, Dulce Pontes, Donna Hightower, Pitingo, Diego "El Cigala," Enrique Morente, Pasión Vega, Guadiana, Sergio Dalma, María Toledo, Mónica Naranjo, Moncho, Camerata Flamenco Project, Ismael Serrano, and many more.
