Description
Bombino, whose real name is Omara "Bombino" Moctar, is a guitarist and singer originally from Niger, known for his unique style that fuses traditional Tuareg music with rock and blues. Some of his great references are Jimi Hendrix, Dire Straits and Ali Farka Touré. Their music is a blend of what is known as "assouf", and modern western styles, which has resulted in a distinctive and captivating sound. Bombino gained international recognition with his album "Agadez" (2011), which took him on tours in Europe and North America. However, it was with "Nomad" (2013), produced by Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys, that she achieved greater success and global recognition. The lyrics of his songs often reflect the life and struggles of the Tuareg, addressing themes such as exile, resistance and hope. Bombino uses his music to preserve and celebrate the culture of his people, while at the same time modernizing and presenting it to global audiences.
