Description
The museum is housed in an antique building with elements of a 17th century church. The first exhibition, SUR PLAY, explores the nature of surrealism and how magical realism, the art of paradoxes and symbols are reflected in the works of today's contemporary artists. We will show the continuity of the past and the history of art from the 20th century to the present and explain those principles to visitors in an educational way. The exhibition brings together 19 international contemporary artists and attempts to create a visual dialogue with surrealism through objects, installations, sculptures and digital art. Our space is designed as a labyrinth in a 17th century building, and visitors will travel through three central themes of surrealist art: The character, The object and Nature. The exhibition ends with a surrealist space where everyone will be able to play the same surrealist games of Salvador Dalí, René Magritte and André Breton and spend time in an imaginary library.
