About the Artists
Lila Downs, award-winning Mexican singer, presents her latest album "La Sánchez" in Lanuza, along with hits such as "Son del chile frito" and "Cucurrucucucú". With a unique voice, she addresses issues of social justice and the Latin American women's experience, fusing genres from folk to jazz to hip hop.

Mulatu Astatke, the father of ethio-jazz, is a leading Ethiopian multi-instrumentalist. A pioneer in fusing Latin music and jazz with the traditional sounds of his country. His influence spread to the West, especially to American hip hop, inspiring generations of artists.
