"The National LGBTQ Task Force Gala is the premier annual celebration of South Florida’s LGBTQ+ community. The Gala is a night for LGBTQ+ people and their supporters to unite as a community, honor our heroes, and support the work of advancing equality for all LGBTQ+ people and their families. The event is produced by the National LGBTQ Task Force. The 2023 National LGBTQ Task Force Gala, presented by St. John’s on the Lake United Methodist Church, will celebrate the National LGBTQ Task Force’s 50th anniversary of leading the fight for LGBTQ liberation in the United States. We return to the dazzling Grand Ballroom of the Miami Beach Convention Center on Saturday, October 14, beginning at 6:30 pm, for an evening that features a cocktail reception, a sprawling and spectacular silent auction, a sit-down dinner, an awards ceremony, and the AfterGlow Ball, with a DJ and dancing. The theme for this year’s gala is Forever Strong, Unapologetically Queer. Our strength is in our ability to rise above adversity. The Task Force has been rising to the occasion for 50 years, with each unique feather in our wing playing an integral part. Our collective story speaks to the transformative nature of life, the importance of persistence and dedication, and the beauty of growth and discovery along the way."
