A truly unforgettable and generous experience
This visit was an absolute gem and far exceeded our expectations. The Musée et Atelier du Cuivre d’Art Albert Gilles is already fascinating for its history, craftsmanship, and the incredible legacy of nearly 100 years of copper art—but what truly made this experience exceptional was the people behind it.
We arrived close to closing time and, despite being outside regular business hours, the team still welcomed us warmly and took the time to give us the full guided experience. This was completely unexpected and incredibly appreciated. Their passion, kindness, and genuine desire to share their art and history made us feel truly valued as visitors.
The guided tour was engaging and informative, the repoussé demonstration was impressive, and creating our own copper piece to take home was both fun and meaningful. Learning about Albert Gilles’ work—especially the iconic copper doors at Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré Basilica—gave the entire visit even more depth.
This is not just a museum; it’s a living legacy, lovingly preserved and shared by the family. If you’re visiting Québec City, this experience is an absolute must. Authentic, educational, hands-on, and delivered with a level of hospitality that is rare to find. Highly, highly recommended.
