Description
The play takes place in a neighborhood courtyard in Madrid. At the time of the premiere, Felipe, one of the neighbors in the courtyard, boasts of being the only one who resists Mari Pepa's charms; however, he is totally in love with her. Similarly, Mari Pepa feels jealous when she sees Felipe with two chulapas, and although they are both in love with each other, they feign a contempt they do not feel. One day, all the neighbors go to the party, leaving Mari Pepa and Felipe alone, and they go back to making fun of each other until they finally recognize their love.
