Description
In 1863, King Luís founded a Museum in honor of the Navy, which has been housed in the Jerónimos Monastery for over 60 years. After all, it was very close to this spot that, in the 15th century, three Portuguese princes set off from the waters of the Tagus to conquer "beyond the sea". Since the great adventure of the Discoveries, the evolution of the Merchant Navy and the War Navy are the motifs of the Navy Museum's permanent exhibition. Knowing the history of the Portuguese at sea is the best way to preserve the achievements of yesteryear. Between ship models, maritime instruments, impressive replicas and real ships, "a World of Discovery" awaits you. Get your tickets to the Marine Museum in Lisbon now!
