Description
St Martin-in-the-Fields brings you a beautiful addition to their brand new lunchtime series. The award-winning Echéa Quartet bring two gems of the string quartet repertoire to St Martin's: Haydn's F minor quartet of 1772 and Mendelssohn's E flat major work from 1838. Both quartets, in different ways, are a marriage of the classical form and the Romanticism that, nascent during Haydn's era, had blossomed into full-flower by Mendelssohn's time. This Friday Lunchtime Concert is programmed in partnership with City Music Foundation and includes their exceptional young artists. Immerse yourself in some beautiful melodies and treat yourself to a moment of midday tranquility in this iconic central London space.
