Description
The great Paris Aquarium is a world leader in marine science. It is one of the oldest aquariums in the world (it was built in 1867!) and more than 13,000 creatures inhabit its depths. With mermaid shows, an underwater cinema, and a shark tank full of these super-predators, it's an extraordinary way to add a marine dimension to your trip in central Paris. Discover tanks containing aquatic organisms from distant tropical regions as well as from France. The first section of the aquarium features carps, sturgeons, and roaches swimming in a recreation of the Seine. The Tahiti and New Caledonia sea recreations teem with fish of all colors: angelfish, clownfish, and triggerfish wiggle their fins to weave through rocks and corals. The aquarium also has two large screens providing information about aquatic life, a special touch pool where children can feel fish, and you can also watch fish feeding live.
