Cocktails
Our in-house mixologist has reinterpreted cocktails that were popular at the turn of the 20th Century, using Japanese ingredients, in order to fully capture the spirit of the evening.
  • Bijuu: A on the classic cocktail the Bijou, invented in the 1890s by the “father of modern bartending,” Harry Johnson, and named for the jewel-like colors of its components. We couldn’t resist naming ours the Bijuu, which fans of Naruto will recognize to mean “tailed beast” in Japanese. Indeed, we’ve leant a little bit of measured beastliness by substituting whiskey for gin and playing up the fruity, herbaceous notes.
  • Additionally, you can also choose from:
    • Beer
    • Wine
    • and a selection of other special cocktails

Description
The Impressionists of the early 20th Century found great inspiration in the traditional arts and aesthetics of Japan, which was newly opened for trade. "Japonisme" was all the rage. We have curated a sophisticated musical program by a highly regarded string quartet to celebrate that influence on Impressionist masters Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel. You will also enjoy a delicious four course tasting menu from Brooklyn izakaya WakuWaku. Their mixologists invented a special cocktail menu just for this event, reinterpreting French classics that were popular at the turn of the 20th century, some of which are borderline "extinct" cocktails you won't easily find on menus elsewhere. Japanese ingredients provide an intriguing twist to fully capture the spirit of the evening. Enjoy a full open-air evening that has everything: top-notch music, food and drink.
