Waseda Hoshien

The founder of Waseda Hoshien, H.B. Benninghoff, established the Christian university dormitory "Yuai Gakusha" in Waseda Tsurumaki-cho in 1908. After relocating "Yuai Gakusha" to Ushigome Benten-cho in 1911, he planned to build an even larger comprehensive student center on the current site. The first building constructed was this red-brick masonry building, Scott Hall. Today, Scott Hall is used as the chapel for Waseda Church, and is also popular for various other purposes, including weddings, music concerts, conferences, choir practices, community gatherings and events, and filming for movies, TV dramas, and commercials.
