About Jadsa

Jadsa, a multifaceted artist from Salvador, Bahia, stands out as one of Brazil’s most innovative contemporary voices. She seamlessly blends roles as a singer, songwriter, guitarist, producer, and musical director, a versatility rooted in her early work composing soundtracks for Teatro Vila Velha. Drawing on an eclectic mix of genres—MPB, samba, rock, trip hop, reggae, and neo-soul—Jadsa has crafted a unique musical identity that resonates across diverse audiences.

Her solo career launched with the EP "Godê" (2015), paving the way for her acclaimed debut album "Olho de Vidro" (2021). This album earned her two Prêmio Multishow nominations for Best New Artist and Album of the Year, while CNN Brasil highlighted her as a key figure reshaping Brazil’s musical landscape. In 2025, Jadsa followed up with her sophomore album, "big buraco," which received a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Portuguese Language Rock or Alternative Album.

Beyond her solo work, Jadsa is one half of the experimental electronic duo TAXIDERMIA, formed with João Milet Meirelles in 2020. Their releases include two EPs—"TAXIDERMIA Vol. 1" (2020) and "OUTRO VOLUME" (2021)—and the 2024 album "Vera Cruz Island," which won the BTG Pactual Brazilian Music Award for Best Electronic Release. Jadsa’s impact also extends behind the scenes through songwriting and production, notably contributing to Juçara Marçal’s "Um Choro" (2022) and producing “Empírica” on Anelis Assumpção’s award-winning album "Sal" (2022). Jadsa’s evolving artistry continues to shape Brazil’s vibrant music scene with originality and depth.
