About Blues Etílicos

Blues Etílicos stands as Brazil’s most successful blues band, widely recognized for their innovative blend of traditional blues, rock, and authentic Brazilian rhythms. Founded in the 1980s and led by harmonica virtuoso Flávio Guimarães, the group carved out a distinctive sound that skillfully melds American blues with native genres such as capoeira and baião. A pivotal moment came in 1987 with the addition of guitarist and vocalist Greg Wilson alongside drummer Gil Eduardo, solidifying a lineup that would define their signature style.

Their self-titled debut album, *Blues Etílicos* (1988), was met with immediate acclaim, selling out quickly and later reissued on CD in 1996. This release marked the beginning of a career that would span six studio albums, each deepening their unique fusion of musical traditions. The 1996 album *Dente de Ouro* particularly exemplifies their innovative approach, infusing blues-rock with distinctly Brazilian rhythmic patterns.

Despite Flávio Guimarães embarking on a solo career in 1995, Blues Etílicos remained a vital force on the scene, continuously thrilling audiences with their dynamic performances. Their most iconic track, "Safra de 63," has secured a timeless place in Brazilian blues history, showcasing the band’s deep roots in cultural heritage while delivering a captivating and accessible sound.
