About Doro

Doro Pesch, born June 3, 1964, in Düsseldorf, Germany, is a trailblazing heavy metal vocalist renowned for her powerful voice and magnetic stage presence. Rising to fame in the 1980s as the frontwoman of the influential power metal band Warlock, she helped carve a path for women in a male-dominated genre. Warlock delivered four pivotal albums—*Burning the Witches* (1984), *Hellbound* (1985), *True as Steel* (1986), and *Triumph & Agony* (1987)—that combined gothic fantasy themes with fierce vocals, drawing comparisons to legends like Ronnie James Dio and Ozzy Osbourne. The band toured extensively across Europe and North America alongside metal giants such as Dio and Megadeth, solidifying Doro’s status within the metal community.

After Warlock disbanded in 1989, Doro launched a successful solo career that shifted towards melodic hard rock and pop-metal, debuting with *Force Majeure* (1989). Despite the rise of grunge in the early ’90s threatening traditional metal’s mainstream appeal, she maintained a dedicated European following. Over the decades, Doro consistently evolved her sound, releasing notable albums like *Angels Never Die* (1993), *Warrior Soul* (2006), *Raise Your Fist* (2012), and the ambitious double album *Forever Warriors, Forever United* (2018). Fluent in English and revered worldwide, Doro remains an enduring icon, celebrated as the Queen of Heavy Metal for breaking barriers and inspiring generations of metal fans globally.
