About Rowena Wise

Rowena Wise is an emerging Australian singer-songwriter originally from the coastal surf town of Margaret River, Western Australia. Raised in a deeply musical family—her mother a folk musician from Chicago and her father a master luthier crafting custom guitars—Wise’s early life was infused with both the art of storytelling and the craftsmanship of sound. Now based in Melbourne, she has solidified her reputation as an electrifying live performer, drawing inspiration from the narrative-driven folk icons of the 1960s while forging a unique sound that blends indie rock, garage pop, and alt-folk.

Wise’s songwriting is characterized by sharp lyricism and evocative storytelling, exploring life’s complexities with raw honesty and emotional depth. Her work places her alongside critically acclaimed contemporaries such as Aldous Harding, Courtney Barnett, Julie Byrne, and Julia Jacklin. With a growing international presence, she is signed to Beloved Recordings in Australia and Dalliance Recordings abroad. Currently, Rowena Wise is preparing a highly anticipated new album expected to expand her reach well beyond Australian shores, cementing her status as a compelling voice in contemporary independent music.

Through her rich narrative style and dynamic performances, Rowena Wise continues to capture audiences with a sound that is both timeless and refreshingly modern, making her a standout figure within today’s vibrant music landscape.
