About Nil by Habit

Nil by Habit is a Brighton-based band known for their electrifying fusion of post-punk grit and disco-infused rhythms. Emerging from the vibrant UK underground scene, they have carved a unique niche by blending the raw intensity of punk with dance-ready grooves, creating a sound that feels both nostalgic and modern. Their music thrives on this dynamic contrast, capturing the rebellious spirit of post-punk alongside the pulsating energy of disco, resulting in performances that are as visceral as they are infectious.

Gaining acclaim for their uncompromising live shows, Nil by Habit have become fixtures in the independent music circuits of Brighton and London. Their energetic stage presence and distinctive disco-punk aesthetic have drawn considerable attention, notably earning recognition from BBC Introducing South, which praised their ability to craft tracks that compel listeners to move while preserving an authentic underground edge.

Nil by Habit’s commitment to relentless gigging and their unique sonic identity has cultivated a loyal following hungry for music that defies conventional genre boundaries. By continuously pushing the envelope, they embody the evolving spirit of contemporary alternative music, proving that post-punk’s angular aggression can dance seamlessly with disco’s celebratory pulse in the modern rock landscape.
