About Tha Playah

Tha Playah, born Jim Hermsen, is a seminal figure in the hardcore dance music scene, having built an influential career since joining Neophyte Records in 2002. Hailing from the Netherlands, he has become one of hardcore’s most prolific producers, delivering over 100 tracks and performing at every major Hard Dance festival worldwide. With more than 1,000 bookings to his name, Tha Playah’s dynamic live shows and meticulous production style—shaped by his background as a studio engineer—have earned him a devoted fanbase and a reputation for sonic precision.

After nearly two decades of releasing music on Neophyte Records, Tha Playah took a bold step by launching his own label, State of Anarchy, signifying a fresh chapter of artistic independence. His third studio album, "Sick and Twisted," released under this new imprint, quickly sold out and became a definitive release within the hardcore genre. Throughout his career, Tha Playah has remained at the forefront of hardcore music by consistently evolving his sound and captivating audiences with high-energy and impactful tracks. His commitment to innovation and quality has secured his status as a cornerstone of the global hardcore community, inspiring both fans and fellow artists alike.
