About Discharge

Emerging from Stoke-on-Trent, England, in 1977, Discharge revolutionized punk music with a relentlessly aggressive sound that pioneered the "D-Beat" subgenre. Their brutal yet captivating style laid the groundwork for both hardcore punk and thrash metal, influencing generations of extreme music artists worldwide. Discharge’s seminal debut album, "Hear Nothing See Nothing Say Nothing" (1982), broke into the UK charts and firmly established them as global trailblazers of uncompromising musical ferocity.

Throughout their career, despite numerous lineup changes, Discharge’s impact only intensified. Their raw intensity and politically charged lyrics have earned them widespread acclaim, inspiring metal icons such as Metallica, Anthrax, Sepultura, Machine Head, Prong, and Soulfly to cover their seminal tracks—though few matches capture the primal power of the originals. In 2016, Discharge signed with Nuclear Blast Records and released "End of Days," which climbed to #10 on The Official UK Rock Charts, underscoring their enduring relevance.

Today, Discharge continues to draw sold-out crowds around the globe, their relentless energy and pioneering spirit securing their place as one of the most influential forces in the history of punk and metal. Their legacy lives on through the countless bands shaped by their groundbreaking sound and uncompromising ethos.
