About Dead Gowns

Dead Gowns is the evocative musical project of Maine-based songwriter Geneviève Beaudoin, known for her evocative blend of folk-rock, alt-country, and indie influences. Her work is characterized by weathered intimacy and poetic lyricism, drawing listeners into deeply personal explorations of longing, transformation, and the passage of time.

Her debut album, "It's Summer, I Love You, and I'm Surrounded by Snow" (year unspecified), takes its title from a poem by Eileen Myles and features twelve richly textured tracks that explore desire, emotional ache, and the complexities of adulthood. The rugged Maine coastline, with its shifting seasonal moods—from blizzard-swept winters to humid summers—functions as a silent yet potent presence, reflecting the internal landscapes Beaudoin navigates. The album's dark romanticism and emotional rawness carve out a space for listeners to experience the disorienting clash between memory and reality, craving and fulfillment.

Building on this foundation, Dead Gowns released her sophomore album "Vegas" (year unspecified), which delves into themes of quiet ruptures, grief, and blurred recollections. Throughout her discography, Beaudoin’s compelling voice maintains a delicate balance: it anchors the listener while simultaneously unfolding emotional layers, creating a transformative experience marked by both rawness and subtle resilience.

Through her distinctive sound and poetic storytelling, Dead Gowns continues to captivate audiences with vivid sonic landscapes steeped in introspection and heartfelt authenticity.
