Sexyy Red, born Janae Wherry in St. Louis, has emerged as one of contemporary hip-hop’s most provocative and charismatic voices. Drawing heavy inspiration from the early 2000s Southern rap scene—especially icons like Gucci Mane and Three 6 Mafia—she began her career in 2018 with a raw, unapologetic style marked by playful, sexually charged lyrics delivered with humor and confidence. Her initial breakthrough came with the 2021 mixtape *Ghetto Superstar*, which introduced audiences to her bold lyricism and distinctive Southern trap sound.
