About Claire Ozmun

Claire Ozmun, an Ohio-born singer-songwriter, crafts music that resides in the delicate intersection of vulnerability and introspection. Her debut album, "Always Living Somewhere" (2022), offers a poignant exploration of displacement and the search for belonging—whether that be a physical place, emotional refuge, or spiritual sanctuary. Capturing the essence of a migrating bird, Ozmun navigates through landscapes marked by planetary, platonic, familial, and romantic grief.

The album defies simple genre classification, blending elements to create an emotionally rich soundscape that resonates through raw honesty and complexity. In the title track, "Always Living Somewhere," Claire confronts challenges in communication, honesty, and accountability, delivering a candid reflection on fractured expectations and personal growth. Her songwriting balances gentle admonishment with empathy, inviting listeners to engage with universal themes of loss and the pursuit of home.

Ozmun’s music lives in the in-between spaces we all inhabit—the places of imperfection and self-questioning as we seek truth and connection. Through "Always Living Somewhere," she offers a deeply personal yet widely relatable journey that embraces the messiness of life with tenderness and courage. This body of work established Claire Ozmun as an evocative voice in contemporary music, appealing to audiences drawn to thoughtful, genre-fluid storytelling.
