About Joe Goddard

Joe Goddard, born in London in 1979, is a dynamic English musician, producer, and DJ renowned for his pivotal role as a founding member of the electronic band Hot Chip. His passion for dance music sparked during his teenage years in the 1990s, immersing himself in the UK club scene and evolving through genres including indie, hip hop, drum and bass, house, and garage. With Hot Chip, Goddard has released eight acclaimed albums, showcasing his ability to blend electronic and indie sounds seamlessly.

Beyond his work with Hot Chip, Joe Goddard co-founded the influential Greco-Roman record label, which has become a significant platform for contemporary dance music. He has also explored various side projects, notably The 2 Bears, with whom he released two albums, and HARD FEELINGS, producing one album under that moniker. His collaborative ventures extend further through projects like Extra Credit, alongside Justin Strauss and Marcus Marr, and A Pulse Train, a partnership with artists Dan Snaith (Caribou) and Floating Points.

Goddard's songwriting and production skills have attracted collaborations with music legends such as Jarvis Cocker, Peter Gabriel, and Bernard Sumner. His remix work includes reimagining tracks by Jessie Ware, Kraftwerk, and Disclosure, reflecting his versatile approach to music-making. Notably, he co-wrote Katy Perry’s introspective track "Into Me You See" and gained widespread recognition with the 2011 dance hit "Gabriel," featuring Valentina. Joe Goddard's career is marked by relentless innovation and a deep-rooted love for dance, pop, and indie music, continually fueled by dynamic collaborations and a fearless spirit of experimentation.
