About Pere Bujosa

Pere Bujosa is a Mallorcan bassist, composer, and musical innovator celebrated for his unique fusion of genres. Primarily trained as a double bassist, he is also adept at piano and guitar, allowing him to authentically explore and blend diverse styles such as contemporary jazz, Mediterranean folk, soft rock, free improvisation, and electronic textures. This versatility defines his sound—an engaging tapestry that balances elegance with unpredictability.

His 2020 album, "Wabi-Sabi," released on the respected Fresh Sound New Talent label, highlights his trio featuring pianist Xavi Torres, a semifinalist in the 2018 Thelonious Monk Competition, and drummer Joan Terol. The classic piano, bass, and drums setup serves as a dynamic platform where Bujosa weaves rhythmic and textural innovations, merging jazz foundations with rock and electronic nuances. His compositions emphasize memorable melodies and spacious arrangements that welcome spontaneity and surprise.

Having toured extensively across Europe and Asia, Pere Bujosa has collaborated with acclaimed international artists including Antonio Serrano, Ben Van Gelder, Hanna Paulsberg, and Salvador Sobral. Beyond performing, he contributes actively to music education and diverse creative projects, continuously pushing the boundaries of jazz and related genres. Throughout his career, Bujosa has established himself as a forward-thinking artist whose exploratory approach makes seemingly disparate sounds feel naturally connected.
