About Klara Lewis

Klara Lewis is a Swedish experimental electronic music producer renowned for her atmospheric and quasi-rhythmic soundscapes, crafted through intricate digital manipulation, field recordings, and carefully layered samples. Daughter of Graham Lewis, bassist of the iconic band Wire, Klara began her musical journey in 2009. She self-released her debut EP in 2012, notable for its fragmented, industrial-inspired rhythms built from found sounds and effects.

Her formal debut album, *Ett* (2014), was released on the esteemed Austrian label Editions Mego, featuring tracks from her initial EP and further establishing her signature style of haunting, textured compositions. Following this, she issued the four-track *Msuic* EP on Peder Mannerfelt's label, deepening her exploration of experimental electronic music. In 2016, she returned to Editions Mego with her second full-length album, *Too*, which included collaborations with British composer Simon Fisher Turner.

Lewis expanded her artistic reach by remixing tracks for artists like Carmen Villain and Factory Floor. In 2018, she partnered with Fisher Turner again to release *Care*, a collaborative album showcasing their shared vision for avant-garde soundscapes. Her 2020 release, the ambitious 20-minute piece "Ingrid," highlights her mastery in constructing elaborate compositions around minimalist elements, such as a single cello loop, reinforcing her place within the forefront of contemporary experimental music. Klara Lewis continues to captivate audiences with her innovative blend of rhythmic innovation and immersive audio textures.
