About Chinese Football

Chinese Football is a vibrant indie rock band originating from Wuhan, China, known for channeling the raw energy and spirit of 1990s independent rock into a fresh, contemporary sound. Since their formation, the quartet—featuring Xu Bo on guitar and vocals, Li Lixin on bass, Wang Bo on guitar, and Zheng Zili on drums—has crafted music that uniquely blends simplicity with layered complexity, weaving stories of passion, fantasy, and the highs and lows of life.

Their self-titled debut album, "Chinese Football" (2015), marked their emergence on the Chinese indie scene and won acclaim domestically and internationally. Following this, the band explored life’s challenges through two mini-albums, "Here Comes a New Challenger!" (2017) and "Continue?" (2019), culminating in their 2022 full-length album "Win&Lose." Together, these releases form a compelling "game trilogy" that reflects on personal struggle and resilience.

Chinese Football built their reputation with electrifying live performances at clubs, Livehouse venues, and major music festivals across China. Committed to their motto—"Break out of Asia, step into the world, give it your all, leaving nothing behind"—they have expanded their reach through tours in Europe, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia. Today, Chinese Football stands as one of China’s most compelling indie rock exports, captivating fans worldwide with their passionate storytelling and dynamic sound.
