About Jafunk

Jafunk is an Australian-born, Portugal-based music producer, multi-instrumentalist, and DJ celebrated for his vibrant fusion of funk, disco, soul, and jazz. Drawing inspiration from the classic grooves of the 1970s and 1980s, he crafts feel-good tracks that marry vintage warmth with modern flair. This signature blend has propelled him to over 130 million global streams and earned him widespread acclaim, including airplay on major stations like BBC Radio 1 UK, Radio FG France, and Triple J Australia.

With a dynamic sound that resonates across continents, Jafunk has built a solid fanbase of more than 1.3 million monthly Spotify listeners. His influence extends beyond streaming; his Splice sample packs, “Future Funk & Soul” and “Disco Gems,” have collectively surpassed 1.5 million downloads, impacting producers worldwide. Jafunk’s energetic live performances have electrified audiences in cities such as London, Paris, Berlin, Jakarta, Sydney, and Helsinki, while extensive tours have taken him throughout Europe, Asia, and Australia.

Collaborations have been key to his evolving sound, with notable projects alongside artists like Snakehips, Young Franco, Cosmos Midnight, and Mark Knight. Endorsements from respected musicians including Questlove, Tom Misch, and Hayden James further underscore his stature within the contemporary groove scene. Frequently featured on influential Spotify editorial playlists, Jafunk notably graced the cover of the “Nu-Funk” playlist in 2023, marking him as a defining voice in the ongoing evolution of modern funk and nu-disco music.
