About Dub Pistols

Dub Pistols, a pioneering British electronic music collective led by the tireless Barry Ashworth, have forged a distinctive sound that blends dub, reggae, breakbeat, and big beat. Rooted in the vibrant acid house scene of Ibiza, Ashworth’s early musical journey began during the baggy era with his initial band Deja Vu, which performed alongside iconic acts such as Happy Mondays and Flowered Up. Over the decades, Dub Pistols have evolved into a diverse, multi-racial group, celebrated for their genre-defying approach and energetic live performances.

Their 2023 album "Addict," released through Sunday Best Recordings, stands as a testament to their collaborative spirit and musical innovation. The record features an impressive roster of guest artists, including 2-Tone legend Rhoda Dakar, MC Navigator, longtime collaborator Lindy Layton, the Ragga Twins, Natty Campbell, General Jah Mikey, and regular live vocalist Mr. Seanie T. Critics have lauded "Addict" as possibly Dub Pistols’ strongest album to date, with DJ Mag awarding it a 9/10 and Electronic Sound naming it one of the year’s standout releases.

Beyond their studio work, Dub Pistols continue to energize fans worldwide through relentless touring and their own Mucky Weekender festival. Their dedication to community and charity initiatives further underscores their lasting influence and reputation as one of the UK’s most dynamic forces in electronic music.
