About Lagum

Lagum is a Brazilian band that emerged in 2014 in Minas Gerais, founded by friends Pedro Calais (vocals), Otavio “Zani” Cardoso and Glauco “Jorge” Borges (guitars), and Francisco “Chico” Jardim (bass). Soon after, drummer Breno “Tio Wilson” Braga joined, completing the group’s distinctive lineup. Their sound blends infectious pop melodies with introspective lyrics, quickly capturing the hearts of listeners across Brazil.

The band’s debut album, "Seja o Que Eu Quiser" (2016), introduced original tracks that steadily gained traction, with the single "Deixa" becoming a nationwide hit celebrated on radio and streaming platforms. Building on this momentum, Lagum released their sophomore album "Coisas de Geração" (2019), which expanded their reach through extensive tours across Brazil and internationally.

In the midst of their rising career, Lagum faced tragedy when Tio Wilson passed away during the COVID-19 pandemic due to dilated cardiomyopathy. They honored his memory with the 2021 album "MEMÓRIAS (de onde eu nunca fui)," featuring his final recordings; this poignant work earned a Latin Grammy nomination. Continuing their artistic evolution, Lagum released the EP "Fim" and the album "Depois do fim" in 2023, both receiving further Latin Grammy recognition, alongside the acclaimed live album "LAGUM AO VIVO," recorded in São Paulo.

In 2024, Lagum marked a new chapter by hosting their first carnival block in Belo Horizonte, attracting over 90,000 attendees, followed by a nationwide tour. Their single "Curva da Ladeira" signaled a fresh creative direction while remaining true to the band’s signature sound, ensuring Lagum’s place as a vital force in contemporary Brazilian music.
