About Tribal Kush

Tribal Kush is a pioneering DJ duo recognized for inventing Basshall, an innovative genre that blends Latin, Afro, Caribbean rhythms, and Dutch EDM into a high-energy, dancehall-infused sound. The duo's journey began in 2015 when Gordito moved from Aruba to Groningen to pursue his studies, where he partnered with Kybba over their shared musical vision. Together, they have become the driving force behind the Basshall Movement label, which boasts over one million YouTube subscribers and serves as the epicenter for this groundbreaking sound.

Early successes such as "Call The Police" and "Ram Pam" established their presence in the electronic music scene. However, it was their 2021 hit "Bad" that propelled Tribal Kush to international acclaim, gathering over 100 million views across YouTube and Spotify and sparking more than a million TikTok video creations. This surge in popularity opened doors for collaborations on Major Lazer’s acclaimed album and earned them a Grammy nomination for producing "Bam Bam," featuring French Montana, Beam, and Diplo.

In 2023, Tribal Kush elevated their profile by winning a Latin Grammy for their production work on Carlos Vives' album "Colombiana II." They also co-produced the catchy track "El Teke Teke" alongside Carlos Vives, Play-N-Skillz, and the Black Eyed Peas. Continuing their trajectory, the duo released their debut EP "KALIKUSH" in 2024 with Amsterdam’s dancehall sensation Kalibwoy, cementing their reputation as leaders in contemporary dance music and innovators of the Basshall sound.
