About Marlene Kuntz

Marlene Kuntz has been a cornerstone of Italian rock since their formation in 1990 in Cuneo, Italy. Founded by guitarist Riccardo Tesio and drummer Luca Bergia, the band’s distinctive sound took shape with the addition of vocalist and guitarist Cristiano Godano. Over the years, the lineup expanded to include bassist Luca Lagash Saporiti and Davide Arneodo on keyboards and violin, enriching their sonic palette.

With ten studio albums, four live records, and several compilations to their name, Marlene Kuntz has cemented a legacy within Italy’s alternative and noise rock scenes. Their uncompromising style and evocative lyrics propelled them to national and international acclaim, earning a gold disc and featuring prominently on numerous film and theater soundtracks.

The band’s creative evolution is exemplified by their 2022 release, "Karma Clima," an innovative album born out of artistic residencies in Piedmont. This project dives deeply into urgent themes like environmental sustainability and climate change, reflecting Marlene Kuntz’s commitment to melding music with broader social and ecological concerns. Produced in collaboration with Viso a Viso and released by Ala Bianca, "Karma Clima" showcases the band’s ongoing passion for experimentation and their ability to engage audiences beyond conventional music boundaries.

Through decades of artistic exploration and powerful live performances, Marlene Kuntz remains a vital force, continually shaping and redefining the landscape of Italian rock.
