About Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp

Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp (OTPMD) is a dynamic Geneva-based collective founded in 2006, celebrated for its bold fusion of African rhythms with eclectic contemporary sounds. Blending elements of Afrobeat, Congolese rumba, psychedelic rock, jazz, funk, and post-punk, the group crafts hypnotic, polyrhythmic compositions that defy conventional genre boundaries. Known for their expansive soundscapes, OTPMD's music features driving percussion, swirling brass, and provocative vocals, creating a vibrant sonic experience that honors African cultural heritage while embracing fearless experimentation.

With a rotating lineup often exceeding ten musicians, Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp delivers energetic live performances that transform venues into communal ritual spaces. Their skillful balance between cerebral complexity and visceral energy has earned them critical acclaim and a dedicated international following among fans of adventurous, genre-transcending music. Notable albums such as "Rotorotor" (2017) and "We're OK. But We're Lost Anyway" (2019) showcase the collective’s innovative approach and artistic vision.

Named after the avant-garde artist Marcel Duchamp, OTPMD embodies a spirit of artistic rebellion and playful creativity. Through their immersive shows and unique recordings, they continue to captivate audiences and assert their place as pioneers in the contemporary experimental and world music scenes.
