About Marco Carola

Marco Carola, born in Naples, Italy in 1975, is a trailblazing figure in the world of techno music. Initially drawn to drums during his early years, he pivoted to electronic and house music by the age of 15, developing a distinctive sound that would come to define his career. By 1993, Carola had established his own production studio, quickly releasing tracks across various labels. In 1996, he founded Design Music, one of Italy’s pioneering techno imprints, which significantly shaped the country’s electronic music landscape.

Carola’s global reputation grew through extensive tours across Europe, Australia, and America, where his dynamic DJ sets earned widespread acclaim. Among his notable releases, the albums "Fokus" (1998) and "Open Systems" (2001) stand out—the latter described by Carola as an "electronic experience," showcasing his experimental approach to sound. Often compared to legends like Jeff Mills and Richie Hawtin, Marco Carola remains a driving force in techno, continually pushing boundaries while preserving the raw energy that first captivated audiences.
