About Ist Ist

Emerging from Manchester’s vibrant music scene, Ist Ist has steadily risen as a defining force in the contemporary post-punk movement since their live debut in January 2015. Driven by a fierce DIY ethos and relentless touring, the band has cultivated a loyal following through word-of-mouth and a powerful live presence. All of their music is independently released on their own label, Kind Violence Records, underscoring their commitment to creative control and authenticity.

Over a decade, Ist Ist have developed an impressive catalog of critically acclaimed studio and live recordings. Their fourth album, "Light A Bigger Fire" (2024), marked a significant milestone by reaching number 25 on the UK Album Charts, affirming their growing influence within the British guitar scene. Supporting this release, the band embarked on a thirteen-country tour, thrilling audiences of over 8,000 people at iconic venues like Amsterdam’s Paradiso and Manchester’s New Century Hall.

Ist Ist’s reputation for intense and uncompromising live shows has earned them widespread support from influential broadcasters such as BBC Radio 1, BBC 6Music, Radio X, and international stations like KINK FM in the Netherlands.
